Arson has been a part of the Unirondack community for almost 10 years, first as a camper and then as a staff member. He is honored to be a part of such a wonderful and silly family, and is committed to giving campers of all backgrounds the best experience possible. They are passionate about the power of joy, goofiness, and the natural world in community building and growth. He believes that through access to outdoor spaces and adventures much healing can be found that is otherwise inaccessible to folks of many different experiences.

Trip Leader
Currently lives in Troy, NY
Sam is so stoked to be joining Unirondack for their first year as a wilderness guide. They view backcountry camping trips as one of the single best experiences for people young and old to discover new levels of confidence in themselves and connection with each other. Sam has been a guide across Ontario and the Adirondacks for eight seasons, focusing on canoe trips with the occasional backpacking trip here and there. As a guide, their focus is on meeting individuals where they are at and spreading a relentless enthusiasm for trying new things.
As a human Sam enjoys sipping as much coffee as their kidneys can handle, flying big kites, and rollerblading or ice skating. An occasional artist, Sam paints landscapes when feeling inspired, and practices haiku writing to pass the time. Their favorite trip route is any route they haven't seen yet!
